The High Priestess is the Great Goddess herself and the avatar on earth that facilitates her worship.
The High Priestess is represented as being between the power of fire and water. The bringing of life and journey of death. The elements that can both save and destroy are in her hands.
Meditating on the Great Goddess in her guise of the High Priestess I saw how we all hold this balance. Every day we create and we destroy because that is what life is about, holding the balance. Everything that comes into the world from our minds, our bodies and our spirit, is born, ripens and dies. Nothing is static.
The Great Goddess balances opposing forces in the way the earth itself spins in cycles of day and night and through the seasons allowing for birth, renewal and death completing the cycle and beginning it again in a never-ending flow.
Our role in this cycle is to flow with the movement and keep moving. Not stagnating or clinging to outdated needs, wants or desires.
