Often we don’t realise the weight of things. In our home and in our lives things accumulate. Space cries out to be filled and things appear in those spaces. We purchase another new item but at that time we don’t reduce, remove or recycle those things we already have.
Feng Shui a system of harmonising with our environment offers a way of dealings with things and creating an environment which allows your energy to flow freely. Often because things are gathering dust or things are not able to radiate their own energy because they are cluttered we then become blocked and are unable to radiate our own energy.
Years ago I read Sacred Space by Denise Linn, I love the book and recommended it to many people. Out of that book I took the phrase “Love it! Use it! Or get rid of it!” I have held to that precept for many years. It hasn’t been so difficult with the larger item such as furniture as my house is so small to fit anything else in I have to get rid of something, so I have always looked at new purchases with do I love this more than what I already have and what would I remove to bring it into my house and this has acted as a curb to purchasing larger items. On the whole I thought I was pretty good at the removal portion of things.
Over the last couple of weeks I have been doing a clear out and I was stunned at how much I had to get rid of. The beauty of doing a clear out like this is sense of accomplishment, the lightness of being and the space you find inside yourself.
In the garden the Camellia’s are starting to come into bloom, the first that flowers is a sasanqua camellia “Paradise Helen”. With a name like that how could I possibly resist buying it.

And with the sudden drop in temperature I have snugly cats giving up sleeping in the garden for the comforts inside.
