“The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.” ― Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype

Back in the 80.s I read Woman Who Run With The Wolves and was both inspired and empowered by this book. It offered validation for things I felt about life which were not part of the day to day world. It touched upon soul beliefs, things that you understand at your deepest level but are not and cannot be part of superficial interactions and conversations that make up every day dialogues.
This book became a touchstone. A wonderful treasure that when opened expanded into a multidimensional map that took me on a soul journey, to a place where I can learnt to hear my story, and the understand the voice that bring ideas to life.
I give thanks to Clarissa Pinkola Estes for writing this powerful, empowering and inspiring book.
Some quotes from the book: ― Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype
“Though her soul requires seeing, the culture around her requires sightlessness. Though her soul wishes to speak its truth, she is pressured to be silent.”
“Bone by bone, hair by hair, Wild Woman comes back. Through night dreams, through events half understood and half remembered...”
“The psyches and souls of women also have their own cycles and seasons of doing and solitude, running and staying, being involved and being removed, questing and resting, creating and incubating, being of the world and returning to the soul-place.”
