It always intrigues me the way you focus on a particular idea or concept and suddenly you are seeing that idea or concept all around you. When previously you never saw it at all.
I created this image in my Shaman series loosely titled “Hidden Faces, Hidden Stories”, with the idea that we often don’t know the inner self. We are unaware of the stories we have and hold inside ourselves that we can bring to birth into the world. We often do not understand our own motivations in behaving the way we do, many times those motivations are linked into the stories we carry within.
After I had created this image suddenly as if an inner eye had peeled open I was seeing images of faces and mirrors or featureless faces, faces in light and shadow. These images were suddenly leaping out at me. Synchronicity at work or peeling off another layer from my soul to free and feel the story beneath.
