Unfortunately there can be no doubt that man is, on the whole, less good than he imagines himself or wants to be. Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is. If an inferiority is conscious, one always has a chance to correct it. Furthermore, it is constantly in contact with other interests, so that it is continually subjected to modifications. But if it is repressed and isolated from consciousness, it never gets corrected.

Your shadow sister show herself to you in the thoughts that float into your mind in the dark of night, the petty irritations and jealousies, the unkind thoughts. She expresses those thoughts and feelings you don't want to own.
No matter how you want to ignore her she must be heard and recognised. She is an important and integral part of who you are. She enables you. Through her you find your balance, your resting place, your authentic self.
We inhabit the space between light and dark, between the idealogical heaven and hell, we don't belong in either place beause we encompass both the weight of darkness and the lightness of being. Our responsibility is to find the point of balance and not staying in the extremes of either aspect of ourselves.
Bless in yourself both your shining light and your absorbing dark.
