Mindful eating means simply eating or drinking while being aware of each bite or sip. - Thich Nhat Hanh
This picture epitomises for me the art of tea. Focusing on and taking pleasure in all aspects of the experience; the warmth of the cup in your hand, the smoothness of the china, the feel of the
images painted on the cup against your fingertips, breathing in the warm fragrant mist, the scent, the colour, the reflections in the tea, then the feel of the cup against your lip, the warm flow of liquid into your mouth and then the taste. As you go through this experience your mind becomes quiet, your heartbeat slows and you connect with the world around you.
