The Art of Tea 01/01/2017

Today’s choice of tea, I felt, needed to be auspicious as it is the first day of the new year. I chose an Ooling tea, Iron Goddess of Mercy from TLeafT. A golden infusion with a rich, sharp flavour that lingers.

I chose this tea as it is created in respect of Kuan Yin the Goddess of Mercy; She Who Perceives The Sound of The World, the pain and suffering that is in the world. She is the pinnacle of mercy, compassion, kindness and love. Focussing on her you can embody these qualities.

I used one of my new tea cups. The Rose and Hydrangea cup a christmas gift as my garden is blessing with abundant roses and hydrangeas.

Yesterday we had a lovely sunny day and I got my first lot of sun tea for the season. Summer Fruits tea from Ti Ora.

I am not a huge advocate of celebrating New Year as is an arbitrary human construct, the calendar year but it is a threshold and I am advocate of recognising and accepting the crossing of thresholds and the crossing of a threshold requires an action that defines moving from one space to another.

This morning I did a lovely embracing invocation to the elements to set myself, my house, my animals and the piece of land I care for in a place of grace and beauty through the coming seasons.

Many years ago I filled two small boxes filled with folded pieces of paper. One box was crystals, meaning and qualities also in this box was folded up pieces of coloured paper. The second box had folded up pieces of paper with affirmations. Each Sunday I will take a crystal, colour and an affirmation to focus on for the coming week

My colour this week is yellow –

In metaphysics yellow connects with the solar plexus and a sense of personal power in the world.

Yellow is the color of intellect and it is used for mental clarity. Linked to the sun and the lion, yellow is connected to the source of creation as its frequency emerges into white light and consciousness.

My affirmation

Rhythm, harmony and balance are now established in my mind, body and affairs.

My crystal is Smokey Quartz

Grounding and enhancing attentiveness to the moment, a protective stone providing an emcompassing barrier of energy around the user, it is the stone of co-operation, Promotes personal pride and joy of living.
