The Art of Tea 15/01/2017

Helen

Wet, wet, wet, wet, wet!!! As far as the eye can see drenched, drenched green and the continuous rolling sound of rain on the roof.

To combat the darkness and the dull feel of the day, candles have been lit creating dancing light and using fire to balance water.

My choice of tea also was uplifting and embracing. I chose Ginger and Lemongrass Green Tea with Kawakawa from Ti Ora Tea a fresh, sharp tea with depth and a bit of a bite. Clarifying and engaging and comforting. I paired it up with my lovely black and green teacup from Trade Aid and my red and green Temuka teapot. I like to mix and match complementary items.

The bantams have all gone to their new home today. Now the freeloading Pukekos will now have to start foraging for their own food. The rain is a great equaliser as it has brought Aurora and Khepra into the house, help them get acquainted with Serida as up until now the interactions have been primarily around the food dishes.

Water Call 15/01/2017

A thick blanket of grey

Drawn down as streams of water

Wrapping around in a clammy embrace

Weighting down on all it touches

Opaque, through the stream colour diffused

Visibility restricted, encased in a tunnelled vista

Opening and closing, before and behind

Soft focussed, edges fading away

Dampness creeps into all the tiny spaces

Like little fingers drifting across skin

Calling to the water inside

If you need a pick me up try a laughing meditation

Laughing Meditation - 8 minutes meditation

.

Many people might be surprised to think of laughter as a form of meditation. Yet not only is laughing meditation one of the simplest forms of meditation, but also it is a very powerful one. The physical act of laughing is one of the few actions involving the body, emotions, and the soul. When we laugh, we give ourselves over to the immediacy of the present moment. We also are able to momentarily transcend minor physical and mental stresses.

Practiced in the morning, laughing meditation can lend a joyful quality to the entire day.

There are 2 stages : - 3 minutes of pure laughter. - 5 minutes of silence. With soft music in the background, close your eyes and enjoy the moment.

Sunday blessings to every one.
