The Art of Tea 12/02/2017

Helen

A slow start today, after a beautiful summer’s day yesterday, we wake up to overcast grey skies. I feel very unmotivated today so I chose a sweet, gentle tea Sakura Rose from TLeafT, Rose blossoms on a sencha base flavoured with the taste of sakura cherries. In keeping with the soft theme my watercolour flowers teacup.

Time this morning was taken slowly. I opened the tea container and sniffed deeply drawing in the wonderful scent of the tea. I admired the rose petal sprinkled through the tea leaves as I scooped them into my glass teapot. Slowly poured in the hot water and watched the steam drift above the tea, then the condensation bloom on the glass lid. Then I poured the golden green tea into my cup.

I enjoyed a wonderful evening last night celebrating a friend’s birthday. To add a highlight to this joy full evening we got to see the penumbral eclipse of the full moon, the halo was so wide and clear. We sat out under the stars and experienced a magical moon occurrence.

Sharing a poem I wrote August 2016

Tea, Simply Complex

A slow and gentle awakening

As fragrant steam softy rises

Gently touching my face

In amber liquid endless reflections

Dreaming into the day

The first sip a benediction

Flavours burst across my tongue

Of long ago and far away

A world bounded by the china rim

May this Sunday be all you need to set you up for the week ahead. Blessings
