Today I had a bit of difficulty deciding on the tea I wanted. I sniffed teas to see I had a response to the scents but still couldn’t decide. Finally I decided intellectually I needed an energising tea today. Due to having adrenal exhaustion everything I put in my mouth needs to be feeding the adrenals. That narrowed the choice down to Tokoyo Lime Sencha from TLeafT or Ginger & Lemongrass Green Tea with Kawakawa from TiOra.
After another sniff I decided on the TiOra green tea. For those reading this not from New Zealand Kawakawa is a small tree also known as the Pepper Tree as the leaves have a peppery bite. Medicinally has been traditionally used as a tonic. So the combination of green tea, lemongrass’ mildly lemony sweetness, ginger’s warming properties and kawakawa’s peppery bite you get a warm deep sharpness in a cup.
This week has not been the greatest of weeks for me, have not been at work due to sleeping for hours on end. Excessively long hours 17 hours in a 24 hour period doing this over a few days meant I wasn’t awake to go to work. Blood tests came back that my iron and B12 levels were good. My vitality is high but my energy is incredibly low, running on empty. I often get like this about a week out from my leave unfortunately this time it is six weeks out until my leave. So a lot of my focus is on recharging my adrenals. I am improving as yesterday I only slept an extra 4 hours.
It is good for me to be creative as that keeps my vitality high and I was irritated that I was too tired to go to art class this week. I will have to catch up this week. I have been thinking about what I want to paint once we have covered all the techniques. We will be putting a painting into a show in June, no pressure. I have enjoyed writing my Flash Fiction it is interesting once I have selected a piece of my art as inspiration the story almost writes itself. It appears all my art pieces have a story to tell.
Last week I wrote of the large flower bud in fish pond that I was hoping was a Lotus flower. It wasn’t a Lotus but a pink waterlilly. It was huge approximately 7 inches (19 cm) across. I thought I had lost this waterlilly when the Pukekos ate all the new growth of leaves and ate down into the rootstock. I repotted it, added fertiliser and moved it to deeper water and this huge beautiful flower was the result. I was disappointed that it wasn’t a lotus but so happy with this stunning flower.
Happy Sunday and all the best for the upcomimg week.
