I’m making a little bit of a change to my Sunday Morning ritual. Prior to my brunch I am doing a Yoga session to awaken my mind and body. It has been four years since I seriously did Yoga last and over those four my fitness, stamina, flexibility and overall capacity has decreased to a very low level. That leads me into this morning’s session. All I managed 1 sequence of Sun Salutation and 3 asanas. Trying to do a full 20 minute session at my current state of being is not achievable; I am going to have to start with baby steps. I now have downloaded a 5 minute session that I will do each day this week, start small and build up.
By writing this I am making myself accountable to all of you who read this, being by myself it is very easy to start a fitness goal but not achieve it. As I have done many times in the past, especially something I am doing from home. When you pay and go to a class that is a driver to do it, when doing something from home it is very easy to ignore it or justify missing doing it. Therefore I will be writing about this journey.
Today is another lovely Autumn day and I chose Ginger Quince Sencha Green Tea from TLeafT for the combination of sharp, spicy, bright and delicate and I used my Summer Flowers cup to enhance the summery delicacy of the quince scent. I paired this up with a simple brunch of poached eggs on toast.
Autumn in the garden and one of my favourite things is happening. My Hydrangea Quercofolia (Oakleaf Hydrangea) is going through it’s glorious leaf colour change. In summer it has green oak shaped leaves and conical creamy flower heads but in autumn it come into its glory the leaves darken to a purple colour and then through to a reddish brick colour before falling off. I look forward to this transition.
We have been blessed with a wonderful autumn which has been especially special after the very wet summer we had. I have a couple of chores in the garden to get done today; planting my fig tree and moving a flax and a white flowering Vireya Rhododendron and prune back the ivy around the fish pond.
My you all have a blessed Sunday with families celebrating Mother’s Day.
