The Art of Tea 30/07/2017

Helen

A beautiful sunny Sunday, woke up very late this morning, probably because I was awake at 3am again with a sore throat. Later I will try to do some light weeding in the garden.

Today I chose the Green Rose Tea in anticipation of the turning towards spring, I used my Jade and Black teapot and cup from Trade Aid and paired this with a vegetable, cheese and herb omelette. It tasted great but didn’t look so great, sometimes I can get omelettes looking perfect and at other time they look like hash, today’s was a hash.

The fairy Magnolias I have are covered in buds I am really looking forward to them flowering within the next few weeks. They are the harbinger of spring. I have three at the back of the rose garden Blush the first one I purchased is a lilac pink against dark green foliage very pretty with a light fragrance. I then picked up two more from the save the plants bin at the garden centre one of them was definitely Bubbles which is a cream base with a blush of pink and a gentle fragrance and I think the third one is either Inspiration or Loving Memories but not one hundred percent sure which. If it is either of these it will be cream or white so that one is like a lucky dip I have to wait to see.

I am still working on getting rid of the ivy, a little bit at a time and generally just trying to stay on top of the garden so it won’t be such a huge job when I take my leave in October.

Life is pretty calm and quiet in Helen’s World, doing all the usual, work, curves, art, writing, reading, some and gardening. I might start some seeds today getting ready for spring. Due to some health issues that arisen this year medically I have to reduce my weight, by going to Curves since February I had reduced my weight 8kg. Still quite a bit more to go I am feeling positive about it. When we move into the new building I will start walking to work, should only take me about 20 to 25 minutes from home to work. Currently I walk up and down three flights of steps three times a day the new building only has one flight of steps , so I need the walk to work to maintain the level of exercise I do at the moment.

Aurora has decided she needs lots of cuddles so I will sign off now with a quote from ― Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype

“All the "not readies," all the "I need time," are understandable, but only for a short while. The truth is that there is never a "completely ready," there is never a really "right time." As with any descent to the unconscious, there comes a time when one simply hopes for the best, pinches one's nose, and jumps into the abyss. If this were not so, we would not have needed to create the words heroine, hero, or courage.”

Blessings to you all, may the week unfold challenges for you to take up.
