Some sunshine and a distinct spring feeling in the air, as is normal with winter’s end and the beginning of spring the weather is very changeable. I feel I really should take advantage of the sun and get into the garden but I am severely lacking in motivation today.
Tokyo Lime in my Geisha tea cup was how I started my day. Without any thought this morning, I reached for the tin that held the Tokyo Lime. I really wanted that sharp brightness of the lime as a stimulus to my low vitality. I guess I need a few more cups to really get myself going..
I have started another painting, Franz Marc’s “Sleeping White Cat”, it is a practice for me to do a series of my three sleeping in curled up poses.
I just finished reading “Company Town” by Madelaine Ashby
“Company Town, has a killer concept: In the near future, everybody is enhanced, with implants and other improvements that make them stronger, smarter, and more on top of everything that’s going on.Except for one person, Hwa—and her lack of enhancements turn out to be her superpower. She’s unhackable, and nobody can ever see her coming. She’s just a regular old-school human, and that makes her a wild card in a world of genetically enhanced cyborgs. She also has a birthmark on her face, which her mother sees as disfiguring, but which messes with face-recognition systems, making her impossible to identify.” Review from Charlie Jane
Anders
Hwa, the main character, has Sturge-Weber syndrome, so off I went to Google to find out what this was. “Sturge-Weber syndrome is a rare disorder present at birth. It’s characterized by a port-wine stain on the face and brain or eye abnormalities.”
Hwa’s birth mark covers her face, arm, torso and leg and one eye is affected and she also has seizures. So the pivotal character has a lot to compensate for personally, let alone having to deal with a serial killer.
If you like intelligently written, futuristic thrillers I would recommend this book.
The Arum Lilies are coming into flower. I love the pure whiteness of Arum Lilies, it give me a sense of untouchableness, of something beyond our everyday world.
Today’s beautiful words come from the timeless Rumi
“Your heart is the size of an ocean. Go find yourself in its hidden depths.” ― Jalaluddin Rumi
“Do you know what you are?
You are a manuscript of a divine letter.
You are a mirror reflecting a noble face.
This universe is not outside of you.
Look inside yourself;everything that you want, you are already that.”
― Jalaluddin Rumi, Hush, Don't Say Anything to God: Passionate Poems of Rumi
Blessings to all on this changeable Sunday and remember throughout the trials that the week will bring that everything you need is already inside of you waiting to be unpacked.
