The last few days of Spring’s reign, I feel she has passed over the banner early to Summer as I already require a fan to sleep at night. After fifteen days of dry weather I am thinking rain would be good. Yes, it is overcast today and the temperature is cooler, they are forecasting a possible shower or two this afternoon; so fingers crossed.
My tea of choice today is Ginger Quince Sencha. I was looking at the teas and decided on the Ginger Quince, took down the tin, opened the lid, brought the tin to my nose and sniffed deeply. The smell was perfect, just what I wanted and the first sip; benediction. I chose my Picasso “Le Reve” teacup to add a touch of quirkiness into the day. The bright yellow and red to match the bright warmth of ginger and the unbalanced, of centre shape of the teacup and saucer for the rough knobbiness of the Quince. Such a funny old fashioned fruit but Quince jelly is fantastic. A few years ago I came across bags of Quinces in a market garden shop somewhere around Levin as I was returning home from a visit with Ngaere and I grabbed them and make Quince Jelly. Sadly I have not seen any for sale around Taranaki. I might have to get myself a tree, one day.
Had a very busy week at work, saw what seemed like 100 people for interviews actually only 35 but everyone had more than one thing they wanted to enquire about., walked to work four day, only managed to get two work outs at Curves in and started my new healthy habit. It is to relax with my legs straight up against a wall, working the core, passive hamstring stretch and to allow the lymph to flow from feet back to the centre and let my brain quiet. Doing something passive for me is harder than doing something active; I have managed to get three done this week. On top of all that Aurora needed to go to the vet. I am on day five of her medication and she has decided she is not coming inside. I am going to have to be tricky to get it into her today and I still have another 5 days treatment.
On a happy note I have lots of blossoms coming out on five of my ten fejoias, looking forward to plenty of fruit. Stated eating from my vegetable garden, which is also a good feeling. The Flower Carpet and Iceberg rose bushes are loaded with roses and the white peony poppy has been a delight.
Today’s inspiration come from the poet Rainer Maria Rilke a lot of his writing relates to the confusion of life and the communion with the spiritual element of life in a world that tend to disregard depth of feeling.
“Let life happen to you. Believe me: life is in the right, always.” ― Rainer Maria Rilke
“Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. ...live in the question.” ― Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet
“The only journey is the one within.” ― Rainer Maria Rilke
Blessings to you all, may your journey within show the wealth that is beneath yours and everyone else’s skin at the heart of your being.
