The sun is shining and Met Service is lying to me they say it is raining. Humidity 74%, I am really hanging out for the rain but the relief isn’t great as the humidity will go up to 100% when the rain stops. The said it would rain yesterday and we got on miserly shower and then the humidity discomfort of heat and dampness.
I didn’t feel like eating much this morning so resorted to poached eggs on extra thin Vogels which toasts up crispy. I selected Sencha Green Rose Tea for it rich smell of greenness and I wanted a cup that represented rain but none of my teacups specifically did this; so I selected Parlour Lace as the little white dots in a line were the closest representation of rain I could find.
The number of sunshine hours we have had throughout November and December has resulted in a magnificent flowering season and roses have been extremely prolific. I deadheaded my Iceberg and it is now coming into a second flush of growth. I really need to get to the Flower Carpet roses as they are extremely top heavy with blooms. I have had lilies in the pond reaching 20cm across and the Lotus is starting to put out it leaves, fingers crossed. Overall the gardens are very lush and for me a little difficult to keep on top of.
I have been regularly walking to work four days of the week the last couple of Fridays I have been very tired by the end of the week and have resorted to taking the car. This upcoming week is very busy so I will probably be taking the car more than walking; I have dentist appointment, a couple of Christmas functions and practicing for the staff’s children’s pantomime. I am a Wise Woman, the Queen of Persia I have got my outfit together and I just have to learn my lines for next Saturday. My new healthy habit for this fortnight is Earthing, walking barefoot on the earth to absorb her energies, I have enjoyed being barefoot on the grass and dirt I have to consciously stop myself from putting my outdoor shoes on: I am doing well each day I have walked out barefooted.
Sharing a little bit of my life with you I give you Jalaluddin Rumi’s words to contemplate as they are words that resonate for me.
“Respond to every call that excites your spirit.” ― Jalaluddin Mevlana Rumi, The Essential Rumi
“Study me as much as you like, you will not know me, for I differ in a hundred ways from what you see me to be. Put yourself behind my eyes and see me as I see myself, for I have chosen to dwell in a place you cannot see.” ― Jalaluddin Mevlana Rumi
Blessings to you all who read these words; and through them share a little piece of my life. May the upcoming week bring to you calls that excite your Spirit.
