I love Autumn, the sunny days and cool nights. I am a little late in getting the post written as I got up fairly late and then decided that I would get the first layer of the lower lawn mowed. Lawns mow, a litre of water drunk and the lower area partially tamed.
Today I went is a favourite tea to break my fast Oolong, Iron Goddess of Mercy. One of the reasons I like this tea is that I can get three brews from one lot of leaves. The leaves are cut in long pieces and they unfurl with hot water, this allow for up to three brews from the same leaves. So it becomes my all day tea. I paired it with my little red, ridged cast iron tea pot which is a delight as it keepd the tea warm for a longer time.
Serida was on cloud nine last night after Khepra gave her a lick on the forehead and then let her give him a lick back, she was so happy. Definitely know when the weather begins to turn as Khepra has started coming inside for a period of time in the evenings and Aurora has tucked herself away in the wardrobe to sleep at night.
I really enjoy in the evenings closing all the blinds and creating an enclosing environment. I am ready for the yin aspect of my world to take precedence and focus on the inner aspect of my life as opposed to the yang aspect that is summer. In October I really enjoy opening the house up and I have my back windows and blinds open all the time and life is external during this time. March/April is the time for me to close the windows and blinds and focus on the internal. As the seasons turn I really need that division between the two aspect of life.
Todays thoughts are from ― Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype
“The psyches and souls of women also have their own cycles and seasons of doing and solitude, running and staying, being involved and being removed, questing and resting, creating and incubating, being of the world and returning to the soul-place.”
“Stories are medicine. They have such power; they do not require that we do, be, act, anything -- we need only listen.”
“Practice listening to your intuition, your inner voice; ask questions; be curious; see what you see; hear what you hear; and then act upon what you know to be true. These intuitive powers were given to your soul at birth.”
Blessings to all, take the time in this season of change to listen to your intuition. May your week has an element of serendipity: the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.
