The Art of Tea 06/05/2018

Helen

Good Morning. We have been blessed with a balmy, sunshine rich autumn. After a week of high blue sky one overcast day, rain in the night and another sunny day. Did you miss me last week, I wasn’t in any frame of mind to do the post due to the onset of a migraine, I moved past that after two days and into a beautiful week of sunshine and walking to work. Then temperature in mornings and evenings does require a little more clothing to combat the chill.

I started my day today with a phone call from a friend and then being in a great mood I decided on Japanese Sencha green tea with lime, lemon and daisies If you are new to green tea this is a delight to start your journey, it has a bright, sharp and lively flavour and bring a sense of energy as you drink the tea. Keeping on the theme of brightness I paired it up with my red, gold and white Peony cup these colours lift my energy and colour my world with bright hues.

Poor Khepra, has injury from being in a cat fight earlier in the week and I have been treating him to get the abcess to come to a head but unfortunately it is still quite hard and tight, so just below his jaw on one side is puffed out. He is such a gentle cat that even though he is unhappy with what I am doing to him the most he has done is a very deep rumbling growl and such a hurt look in his eyes when I spray the horrible tasting Silica into his mouth. Even after me being mean to him he still came for a cuddle.

I am really pleased with what I have gotten done in my garden and I am excited about the new garden areas I am shaping out. I have been transplanting plants into new areas and have been bringing one cuttings from pieces of plants I have picked on my walks to and from work. I have a bit of major work to be done with replacing the ponga wall at the back of the potager garden. I got a quote for a retaining wall and almost had a heart attack at the price which was close to three times more than my budget. So I have had to change my plans and I am waiting on more quotes for either a wood cladding wall or replacing the pongas. That garden with be totally revamped once the wall is done so I will probably have to give it another name.

I have been thinking about my May goddess, still haven’t gotten the copper foil as I have to send away for it. So I will either do a painting or an collage. Ideas are bouncing around in my head. I am also thinking of doing another month of Flash Fiction this is where I attempt every day to write a story in less than a thousand words. I am thinking June as I will be a little more housebound with the weather.

Today I have chosen to reflect on the beautiful poetic words of Sanober Khan

“I live there... Far above the song-filled clouds, where the dewdrops touch my skin so bare I live there.” ― Sanober Khan, A touch, a tear, a tempest

And I just love these words;

“Poems are soft kitten furs. smoothing out the rough edges of my world.” ― Sanober Khan

“words like mysterious mermaids come and live permanently in the soft sweeps and scars of my skin.” ― Sanober Khan

Blessings to all, may any rough edges you have in your world be smoothed out throughout the days of this upcoming week.
