The Art of Tea 17/06/2018

Helen

What is happening with the weather? It is very warm today; I am wearing the weight of clothing I wore for the beginning of Autumn. As Summer was turning towards Autumn I said that Summer wasn’t giving up her hold, now I feel that Autumn is not giving up her hold and handing over to Winter. Maybe she has felt a bit short-changed by Summer and needs to get in her allocated number of days. Winter can be a bitch and throw some tantrums, she was short-changed last year and we do have some severe weather warnings coming up over the next few day.

My late start is supported by trying a new tea, adding something different, something new to my little ritual. Tung Ting Oolong from TLeafT. It is described as:

“one of the finest Oolongs in the world from the Dong Ding region in Taiwan. Tender leaves and buds brew a pale golden green cup with a superb full bodied flavour and a lingering aftertaste. Highly aromatic with a subtle floral tone”

The first thing noticed is the pale golden colour, then sweetness in that first sip, it a light tea with a very smooth and delicate flavour. The tea was beautifully paired with my red, white and gold peony cup. Life’s little luxuries that can take you out of the world for the time it take to drink your tea.

My neighbour Ann popped over to share a cup of tea or two, or three. Our conversation covered wide range of subject matter towards the end we discussed using crystals to change your state of being. I have a lovely little bag with pockets sewn in it and when life becomes difficult I select crystals to support me. For energy, I look to Bloodstone, I love Smokey Quartz as a grounding stone that helps with release, to let go of emotions that do not help you. Rose quartz aligns you with universal love, the opening of your heart to the energy of love from every living thing and flow from your heart of love to every living thing. Carnelian is great for creativity but also to keep you in the now within that creativity, this is the stone that help you to get in and create in whatever way, shape or form creativity take for you. Hematite, is a wonderful stone to dispel negativity around you and grounds you into your essential being able to get on with what need doing. The big gun to dispel negativity Obsidian, one of the strongest protection stone it will purify negative energy within its vicinity. These are some of the stone I carry with me. Touchstones that enable me to be mindful in my daily tasks and that wrap me in a net of support and protection.

The sun is shining so I am going to get into my rose garden and get the rosehips to make some Rosehip Jelly and I will prune the roses.

As I have been on a metaphysical theme with the crystals I thought John O’Donohue was the perfect match for the thoughts of the day

“If you send out goodness from yourself, or if you share that which is happy or good within you, it will all come back to you multiplied ten thousand times. In the kingdom of love there is no competition; there is no possessiveness or control. The more love you give away, the more love you will have.” ― John O'Donohue, Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom

And

“The heart is the inner face of your life. The human journey strives to make this inner face beautiful. It is here that love gathers within you. Love is absolutely vital for a human life. For love alone can awaken what is divine within you. In love, you grow and come home to yourself. When you learn to love and let yourself be loved, you come home to the hearth of your own spirit. You are warm and sheltered.” ― John O'Donohue, Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom

Blessings of the day, sending out love to you all and may the mantle of love wrap you in a warmth the nourishes your soul throughout the coming days.
