After a stunning day yesterday today is a little grey and overcast. I am hoping the sun will come out later so that I can get back into the garden. Whilst tidying up the cardboard I have in the garage for laying down in the garden once I dig up the top soil, I came across a 6 foot metal pole that was once attached to the washing line, and I had a brainstorm; I could paint the metal pole to create a totem for my garden. Amongst everything else I am doing this will be my new project for when I am on leave in October.
It is the last month of winter and signs of spring are already showing in the blossoms, bulbs and new growth. I feel Winter has been shouldered out a bit this year, she hasn’t had a full season as Summer hung on into Autumn, Autumn stretched out her time into early Winter and now Spring seems to be already awake. We certainly have had plenty of rain, but this is Taranaki, we get plenty of rain and complaining about it is a waste of time and energy. We have had the odd one or two day that have been cold but overall it seems to have been much warmer and I have already turned off the heating in the house.
I am quite disappointed as it looks like I lost a couple of my old Begonia, one of the new one I purchased had mould and the spores went onto the older plants. I have taken all the leaves off an I hope my big grey will come away again but the small grey really looks like a lost cause. I have taken all the leaves off three others and they are coming away again bit I need to treat them for fungi and mould.
My tea of choice today was a gift from nephew Bailey Green Rose Tea,as a nod to completing the pruning of the roses yesterday to go with it I chose my white rose tea cup a gift from my sister Ngaere. So breaking my fast this morning was connections with family member, thinking of them especially as Bailey has left for Japan and Ngaere and Sue-Anne are starting a new phase in their live with the new home.
So my musings today are on connections, the web we create to support our soul in this stage of our journey. We all unconsciously send out energy feelers to make connections with others, to link our life web with other webs, webs that span the world, we recognise the souls that wrap our own soul in warmth.
No-one says this better than John O’Donohue.
“Real friendship or love is not manufactured or achieved by an act of will or intention. Friendship is always an act of recognition.” ― John O'Donohue, Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom
And
“Love allows understanding to dawn, and understanding is precious. Where you are understood, you are at home. Understanding nourishes belonging. When you really feel understood, you feel free to release yourself into the trust and shelter of the other person's soul.” ― John O'Donohue, Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom
Blessings to each and every one of you in this coming week may you gives yourselves into the trust and shelter of another.
