The Art of Tea 19/08/2018

Helen

I have a sense of waiting today and I am not sure why. It could be the type of weather cold, still and grey or it could be the universe talking to me. It feels as if something is unfolding but I can’t see what it is. I am just going to have to have patience, a virtue that I am very good with.

As I said it is cold, still and grey so I chose Chai Spice tea, warming in so many ways, my tongue still hold the tingle from the ginger and the subtle warmth of cardamom. Cardamon is known as the Queen of Spices warm smokey and aromatic with cool undertone which impart freshness similar to mint. Cardomon, from the ginger family is one of my favourite spices, I love adding it to hot chocolate.

I got a wonderful haul from the op shops yesterday; I wanted stands to put my indoor plants on to create variance of height to create a effect and to show off individual plants. I got a vertical birdcage style stand that has 4 tiers for plants, a small cane table with 2 tiers and two small wooden stools. With a new coat of paint they will look great, Out of the 7 Begonias that got the mould spores on them I only lost one plant, the others are coming away nicely after removal of all leaves and cinnamon being added to the soil.

Khepra is sitting beside me purring and staring up at me wanting me to reach down to pet him and to give him some biscats, Aurora is undercover in my bed and Serida is sleeping in her favourite spot next to my pillow. The rain has now started; the grey, silently drifting down, Seeing the cats all sleeping does invite me to join them when the day is like this.

Tomorrow the landscaping company will start the work on my Ponga wall killing all the weedy growth then putting on weed retardant and weed matting, then wood cladding over top. I am really looking forward to having that area tidied up with a decent wall in place. Once it is done I get to bulk planting up the garden with lots of flowering plants. It is not quite time for me to get in and do the plantings, in another couple of week then it will be time.

So my musings today are on anticipation a nd the sense of waiting for something to happen.

An intense anticipation itself transforms possibility into reality; our desires being often but precursors of the things which we are capable of performing. - Samuel Smiles

And

Never forget that anticipation is an important part of life. Work's important, family's important, but without excitement, you have nothing. You're cheating yourself if you refuse to enjoy what's coming. Nicholas Sparks

Blessings to all, at some time during the week may you enjoy that bubble of anticipation that rises like champagne.
