“Gratitude, like faith, is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it grows, and the more power you have to use it on your behalf. If you do not practice gratefulness, its benefaction will go unnoticed, and your capacity to draw on its gifts will be diminished. To be grateful is to find blessings in everything. This is the most powerful attitude to adopt, for there are blessings in everything.” ― Alan Cohen

Today’s gratitude is a continuation of yesterday, something that make me smile but there are so many things.

  1. When I am interacting with people, offering a smile breaks the ice and extends a bridge to the other person, closing the gap between strangers;

  2. Clouds in the sky, I know about gravity and the composition of clouds but to me there is an element of magic in clouds and the shapes they write across the sky;

  3. Wild plants growing through the cracks in the streets, their presence shows that you can bloom anywhere, through any adversity;

  4. Dandelions, another thing that people who know me are probably rolling their eyes at, the bright yellow sunshine faces bring a smile to me;

  5. Being in the company of a friend, the pure delight in their presence;

  6. The beginnings and endings -of the day, the week, the year;

  7. A warm, scented bath, a place to let my imagination roam free, I often get inspirations when I am in the bath;

  8. Pansy faces;

  9. Of course my cats, fish, birds and resident hedgehog;

  10. Thinking of my sisters, holding within them a sense of home;

  11. The sound of chimes and flutes and drums;

  12. My tapestry that Mum created, a memory, she didn’t like the colours I choose but she did them for me;

  13. Sunshine on my back, rain on the roof at night when I am in bed, wind dancing through my hair;

  14. Feathers, found in the street, I am forever picking up feathers and carrying them with me, to remind me that our spirit is free;

  15. The poetry of Sanober Khan

“Sometimes I think, I need a spare heart to feel all the things I feel.” ― Sanober Khan, A Thousand Flamingos

16. Eating fruit from my trees, the taste is so much more than that bought from the supermarket

17. Susan Seddon Boulet’s art, I aspire to create in such a way.

18. I always have a happy bubble inside when I get to wear my purple hat with feathers;

19. Pana chocolate, raw, organic, handmade vegan, no dairy, no soy, gluten free, no refined sugar, Sour Cherry and Vanilla or Rose, I’m smiling just thinking about it

20. Plants that have leaves shaped like hearts

Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude. Denis Waitley
