What is peace?

It is something people want and wish for. It is something to share; a gift when the promise of peace is offered to others. To many it appears to be an idealised state that happens somewhere else for someone else. Is peace something outside of the individual a utopian ideal.

“Quiet the mind, and the soul will speak. ― Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati,

I believe that peace belongs to each person it isn’t an ideal that sits outside of us. It is part of our mind, body, soul connection. Like a flower blossoming peace unfurls inside of you often through a sense of wonder. When the conscious mind is silenced peace is waiting there for you.

Peace is expansive. When you connect with it an endless space wraps around your soul and takes you deeper into the realm of quietude. When you reach this point you reach a place of knowingness, understanding the world around you and your unique place within the world. You recognise how you are connected to everything around you.

Your connection is the gift you want to share with others, as John O’Donohue wrote “the longing and the belonging”. When you share this beautiful gift with others and they share this gift. The connection strengthens and peace unfurls further. You are a conduit for peace, the endless space that opens up inside of you needs to be shared. Peace has an urge to go beyond you as it gains depth and vitality by being in the world.

There is no way to peace. Peace is the way. – A.J.Muste
